Backman, Salt Lake City, di- ! "rector of the Centennial an- , nounced this week. The stamp will be ready for printing and distribution in 1947. While the postoffice department depart-ment reserves the right to create cre-ate the design for the stamp, it is anxious to have suggestions and designs from Utah. Utah Covered Wagon Days, Inc., which for years has promoted pro-moted Pioneer Day celebrations in Salt Lake City, is offering three prizes: a $50.00 war bond first prize; a $25.00 war bond second prize; and a $25.00 war bond, third prize, for the best suggestions. The winners will be determined by judges to be appointed by the Centennial commission. com-mission. Judging will be on a basis of 75 per cent for written ideas, plus 25 per cent for the quality of any sketch submitted. i |
