Show Two Movies Filmed in S. L, With, all motion picture activity activi-ty on Utah's "southern front" suspended for the season, two feature pictures were recently-filmed recently-filmed in and around Salt Lake City. An M. G. M. picture, titled "Army Brat" using a cast and crew of 85 people just wound up activities at Fort Douglas. Southern Utah's Gronway Parry, the transportation spe-cialist, spe-cialist, was right on the job during the filming of the picture pic-ture and to the surprise of M. G. M. director, he moved 1000 soldiers from Kearns to Fort Douglas almost within a matter mat-ter of minutes; Gronway of course has the facilities and knows how to do the job. On the other hand, Director Yakama Canutt, a former all-champion all-champion cowboy and whose name is familiar to every rodeo fan in the United States, along with other Republic pictures officials of-ficials are now in Salt Lake City filming a picture titled, "Night Train For Memphis." Appealing to David H. Mann, Utah publicity pub-licity and industrial develep-ment develep-ment official, for aid in finding suitable locations, Mann, along with. Daniel P. Heiner, D&RGW passenger agent, and Clem Schramm, Salt Lake chamber of commerce, located an acceptable rail line with a pine tree background, back-ground, river bridges, etc., in Provo canyon. Pine covered hills for long shots were found in the High Uintah's and pnotogen-ic pnotogen-ic tunnel openings oa the D&RGW lines near Castle Gate. |
