Show By WM. "BUD" WHITE It is indeed a pleasure to the eye to look upon the business section of Holladay with the newly-laid roads. Through the combined efforts of the Holladay Hol-laday Lions and the local business bus-iness men, the Utah State Road Commission has now completed their section of road south of the semaphore to Kentucky Avenue. Ave-nue. Salt Lake County Road Commission Com-mission is to be complimented for their part in this project, also. Their task included all construction north of the sema phore through the business district dis-trict and along 23rd E. We hope, however, that their efforts (both the Salt Lake County and the Utah State Road Commission) Commis-sion) do not end here, as we are all aware that many roads in our community are urgently in need of repair. A little inspiring news comes from our education committee who met with the Granite Board of Education recently. Through their cooperation we now have a newly painted and repaired shower room at the Olympus Jr. High. This has been a long needed job and the Lions are glad to see a needed job well done. We are indeed happy to see Lion Martin Stratton again in circulation throughout our community com-munity after his prolonged illness. ill-ness. More good health to you, Martin, and may we soon see you behind your bakery counter, coun-ter, with flour on your hands. Frank Withers reports that after he paid out all expenses from our Softball game we had a nice little nest egg for onr treasury. Thanks, Frank and your service committee for another an-other job well done. |
