Show Central Branch of Continental Bank Being Built Work on the Central branch building of the Continental National Bank, 1563 So. Main, was started Saturday, Sept. 13, it was anounced by Walter E. Cosgriff, president. Will Remain Open The bank has operated its central branch in temporary quarters at that address since May 12. The new building will be erected on the same site, but banking services will continue during the construction period, Mr. Cosgriff said. The Central branch was established to bring complete banking service to the people of? south and southeast Salt Lake. To be built of brick masonry construction, the modern, fireproof fire-proof structure will cost approximately approx-imately $100,000. It as been designed de-signed by Snedaker and Mac-donald Mac-donald architects, to offer makr imum convenience to the customer. cus-tomer. Departments most used by -the public will be placed nearest the entrance, while other oth-er lesser used facilities will be located farther back, bank officials of-ficials said. Plenty of Parking Space Parking space will be plentiful, plenti-ful, Mr. Cosgriff said, with a large area for curb parking and a spacious lot adjacent to the building which will be surfaced for the convenience of custo-1 mers. The building, which is expected ex-pected to be completed early in January, 1948, will have a Main street frontage of 65 feet and will have the latest type of air conditioning and radiant heating. |
