Construction of the new chapel chap-el for Lorraine LDS Ward, 11th East and Lorraine Ave. (3410 South), will take about a year. The beautiful new wardhouse will have several unusual features. fea-tures. Brick and Stone The building, to be constructed construct-ed of brick with native stone trim around the entrances, will face south. To the west of the chapel will be a recreation hall, which also will serve as a hallway hall-way to the 12 classrooms. This arrangement means the first floor (with the classrooms) will extend about 14 feet beyond the two-story recreation hall on the south, west and north sides. On the extreme west end of a wall between the chapel and recreation hall may be opened. Construction of the chapel probably will require a year's time. The architect is William Frederick Thomas. |
