Show East Mill Creek Folks Hate to See the Cecil Baker Family Go By Mary Lythgoe There's nobody better known out a-iound EMC than "CEC" BAKER and family. Everybody who knows 'em like 'em. And now that DROSTAN is home from his mission, naturally they are more popular than ever. He returned with his father and MAURICE in a brand-new Olds-mobile Olds-mobile just the other day, from the central Atlantic states mission, mis-sion, where Drostan fulfilled his call. It's wonderful to have them around, and it'll be a blow to everyone when they go to . . Logan, where Mr. Baker is coach at the A. C. It's good luck -for them, we guess, but bad luck for us. Mutual is in full swing again this year, and several of the stake wards held their opening socials last week. Rosecrest Ward's delightful program was headed by MR. and MRS. AVARD BOOTH, new and welcome wel-come additions to the ward, with JACK EHLERS and LEWIS MCALLISTER MC-ALLISTER participating. Dancing Danc-ing followed. At Kenwood, ANN GREAVES, clever drama director, direc-tor, emceed a mock television show starring fun characters like MARGARET and RICHARD BAKER, LYLE BENNION SR., RONALD GEE, GEORGIA BELLOWS, BEL-LOWS, PHIL RICHARDS and GLORIA COLEMAN. Mad time had by all. Speaking of Rosecrest, I hear tell a special meeting is planned for Sunday sacrament, Sept. 10, with distinguished High Councilman Council-man JULIAN DANS IE as speaker. speak-er. And in Evergreen, the farewell fare-well of missionary-to-be RUTH DAVIS is scheduled. When Brigham Young said "This is the place," he must've been referring to Grandview chapel. It's certainly a popular place for meetings these days. Now that Imperial Ward has moved in, there are three different dif-ferent meeting schedules. |
