Show Stake, Ward Members Map Weekend Programs ?'2 To Raise Funds to Rebuild Fire-Razed Chapel Sale of slices of the "biggest pie in the world" is just one of the attractions slated for the big fund-raising program for the rebuilding of the burned-out Stratford-Park Avenue ward chapel. The pie which will have more than $100 worth of ingredients is being donated to the fund drive by Lewis and Lewis 0. P. Skaggs store, 2015 East 27th South. Borden's Milk and General Mills are contributing the ingredients. A sample of the size can be had from the number of eggs slated to go into the pie: an easy 10 dozen. Slices of the pie will go on sale Saturday evening in connection connec-tion with the carnival being held both Friday and Saturday on the grounds of the chapel, 15th East and Stratford Avenue. The I carnival is the first event in the fund-raising program. On Monday, Sept 11 at 8:15 p.m., the entertaining stage show, "Buoadway Review," will be presented at the Southeast LDS Tabernacle, 2005 So. 9th East, according to Joseph S. Wood, general chairman for the Highland Stake. This event too is planned to aid the rebuilding fund, and everyone is invited, Mr. Wood said. The show is of' topnotch quality, qual-ity, according to critics, and will be well worth whatever contribution con-tribution the public wishes to make to the rebuilding fund. The place of the show is the former for-mer Granite-Highland Stake House, which is now owned by six stakes and is known as the Southeast Tabernacle. Franklin J. Murdock, president presi-dent of the Highland Stake, and Mr. Wood emphasized that the "Broadway Review" is a show that everyone will want to see, and that the contributions will materially aid in the rebuilding of the beautiful Stratford-Park Avenue Ward chapel. |
