Gaddie BY MEL, WRIGHT Chairman Club Publicity Committee will miss one of the best eve nings of the year. The first annual kid's show held Dec. 27 at- the Holladay theater wss sure one howling success. We invited all the kids from Holladay - Milcreek area to attend these two shows and by the size of the crowd at both shows, the kids sure "didn't want to be left out of the fun and by the amount of noise they made they had plenty of fun The annual Christmas party held Dec. 13 at the Old Mill Club was a success from start to finish. fin-ish. Lion Roy sure put on ' a fine dinner and dance. Those in attendance will long remember this fine cabaret dinner dance with all the trimmings for .i grand evening. We have only one birthday to mention for the month ot January, that of Lion Roy Neil-son Neil-son on Jan. 1. From the board of directors of the Holladay Lions Club to all our members and to all our friends may we wish you all a very happyr New Year- Gee, wasn't Christmas wonderful! won-derful! Everyone had such a grand time, the kids with their toys scattered all over the house from front doors to back, grandmothers and grandfathers beaming with bride and joy as they leaned back in their comfortable com-fortable arm chairs, watching their grandchildren and children chil-dren open each present, and exclaim ex-claim with joy as they discovered discov-ered the contents of each gaily and daintily wrapped package. As the day rolled on and the excitement of St. Nicks visit subsided just a little, we recalled re-called the Christmases the past four years and the boys and girls who could not be home again this year and those who made the supreme sacrifice that we could again enjoy a peacetime peace-time Christmas. As we enter into the New Year ter. us not forget these men and women who brought us victory and peace, but each day offer a prayer pray-er of thanks and that never again will we forget the spirit ' of Christmas with peace on earth good will toward all men. At a special meeting of tin! board of directors held Thursday Thurs-day night at the home of Vice President Lloyd Springett, a motion mo-tion was passed that the first, dinner meeting of the new year Obe held Thursday, Jan. 3, at Judds dining room, 33rd South and Highland Drive at 8 p.m. This change was made so that our meeting would not interfere inter-fere with the Granite Arts next big musical treat that will be held on Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. in the Granite high school auditorium. auditori-um. Featured on this program will be Miss Mona Bradford, world renowned contalto. Knowing Know-ing that most of the Holladay Lions have season tickets to the concerts it was felt best to time. Remember the dates: dinner din-ner meeting Jan. 3, and concert Jan. 10. The speaker for our regular , business meeting to be held Jan. 24 at Olympus high library will be Father Morton, chaplain at the Utah state prison. Knowing Know-ing Father Morton, it is sure to be a very- interesting evening and if you miss this one you |
