This flight of six B-29 superfortresses makes a majestic picture as the huge bombers soar over Japan's towering Mount Fuji. The big ships were on a training mission mis-sion to intercept naval forces at sea for a practice bomb run. Even in summer there is snow to be seen in the crevasses near the peak of the mountain. B-29s roaring peacefully over Japan are a common sight in 1947.
