Show Local Bank Head Gives Instructions On G.I. Bonds .Men and women who served in the armed forces during World War II will be permitted if they so desire-to cash terminal termi-nal leave bonds beginning Sept. 2. In making this announcement, announce-ment, C.G. White, manager of Sugar House Branch, First National Na-tional Bank of Salt Lake City, said the bank has been appointed appoint-ed an authorized agent for payment pay-ment of these bonds. Mr. White emphasized that the bonds need not be cashed at this" time, but can be cashed at any future time without delay when owners need the money. He pointed out that they earn two-and-one-half per cent interest. inter-est. Mr. White said that the bonds are not transferable and that positive identification of a person per-son as the owner of the bond being be-ing presented for cashing must be established. To facilitate 1-dentification 1-dentification owners should present pre-sent their original separation papers at the bank along with the bond, Mr. White suggested. |
