Caddie ' BY MEL, WRIGHT Chairman Club Publicity Committee The Lions are sparking all kinds of public improvement projects proj-ects for the Holladay area these days, and the upshot of a couple of meetings with county commissioners seemed to be that we're making some headway with the powers that be. These proposals, including increased police protection, improvement of several highway bridges and establishment of a tax supported county recreation program are reported in separate articles elsewhere in this isssue of The Bulletin, i 1 Tonight, Nov. 30, is the night. Our big annual fall festival fes-tival dance at the Old Mill club, prizes floor show and a big time for every one. You still have time to call your Mends and invite 'em to be on hand. Remember this is a community affair and everyone is invited. They don't have to be members of the club they don't even have to live in Utah. Just bring 'em and they will have a good time. Don't get stuck with those two tickets. If you can't use 'em yourself be sure and sell 'em. On Thursday Supt. David Gourley of the Granite school district, addressed the club on the subject "Problems of Education Edu-cation in the Granite School District". An invitation was extended ex-tended to all residents of the area to attend. The regular dinner meeting to be held in December will be turned into a ladies night and the annual Christmas party will be held, the time, place, and other oth-er information to be released as soon as the entertainment committee com-mittee completes details. Be sure and keep tiiis pariy in mind. The date will Jbc about Dec. 13. Monday night the Holladay bowling team, Frank Withers, captain, Rex "high man" Dennis. Roy Hobbs, Bob Mullholland, Bill Neff, Mark Stratton, Kay Hammond, and Ken Sutherland, took advantage of the host team, Sugar House Lion's, and put us in the win'column for the first time. We would have listed the players before but this being the first time they had a successful suc-cessful evening we felt it time to give the boys a plug. By the way, any of youse guys that would like to belong to the . bowling team give Capt. Frank a buzz as the team needs a few more men. BUTTERCUP HAD A BABY: It sure was a treat to have a steak with mushrooms at the last dinner meeting held Nov. 9 at Roy Linton's Temple Square coffee shop. For the benefit of those who were not in attendance, attend-ance, you sure missed a fine meeting and a grand dinner. Now that rationing of meat has been removed let's remove the rationing of our attendance. While on the subject of attendance attend-ance if you are not one of the 100 per cent attendance members mem-bers how about giving us a boost in the district contest by show- Ing up regularly to all meetings. meet-ings. Remember they are Air WAYS held on the second and fourth Thursdays unless otherwise oth-erwise notified. SAVE THOSE TWO NIGHTS FOR THE CLUB. ' For the benefit of the mem bers of the club who have not as yet subscribed to this weekly week-ly sheet or may not have heard, the club in cooperation with the editor of said sheet has adopted the Bulletin as our own weekly news letter to the members., about one third of the members now receive it weekly. This will be the last issue mailed to you unless you are a regular subscriber. Be in on the know of what goes on in the club and in Holladay. Call Mel Wright publicity chairman now and tell him to put your name on the list. P. S. Mrs. Mel has been writng stuff for the Holladay area. After so many years with little or no outside Xnias decorations dec-orations it's sure gonna be nice to have 'em tup again, don't you think?
