Show Christmas Lights In Sugar House Will Go On Dec. 8 For the first time in foui years, Sugar House will he decked with Christmas lights this season they'll be switcher! on Dec. 8, and thereafter throughout the holiday season this will be the Christmas center of the west. Plans for th. Christmas lighting and for a bii display and Christmas week celebration, calculated to brin' visitors and shoppers by iho thousands into this district ar being pushed by the chamber of commerce under the direction of Horace A. Sorensen, president. presi-dent. The city and county are both cooperating in the lighting program, pro-gram, and the chamber is mapping map-ping a drive for special Christmas Christ-mas decorating effects by all the business houses. " The big celebration which will feature a number of entertainment entertain-ment attractions, broadcast music, mu-sic, carolers and probably contests con-tests of various kinds, will hold sway Dec. 20, 21, 22 and 24. Highlights High-lights of the event will include a giant mechanical Santa Claus in the plaza, and the huge tree which will be the scene on Saturday, Sat-urday, Dec. 22, of the arrival of a live Santa Claus with a bag full of toys and gifts for all the children present. |
