Show Committee Will Map County Recreation Plan As a result of two meetings held during the week, a committee com-mittee of five will be named to work out details for a proposed Salt Lake county recreation program to be financed by public pub-lic funds. The proposal was taken to the county commission commis-sion Monday by representatives of various county organizations organiza-tions spearheaded by the recently re-cently formed Salt Lake County Recreation Assn., and after the general outline had been formed it was decided a committee of five woud go to work on the details. ' , ' The board of directors of the association met Wednesday and designated W. F. Bailey, association asso-ciation secretary, as their representative rep-resentative on the committee, and George Morgan, county finance fi-nance and buildings commis-! commis-! sioner, will be another member. The other committee members will be representatives of the Granite, Murray and Jordan school districts. At the commission meeting it was pointed out that there is no available county financing for such a program, but the committee will try to work out a financing program that can be included in the county's 1946 budget. Kenneth Brady, president of the Union Lions club, represented the association associa-tion at the commission meeting and explained that the project has the endorsement and backing back-ing of all the civic and service clubs as well as the schools and churches and P-TA groups of the county. Dr. D. L. Folsom of the South Salt Lake Kiwanis club is chairman of 'the association. |
