Show Out East Mill Crock Way From Rose Bowl To Alaskan Tours E. Mill Creekers Are On The Move of the 22 persons present. Miss Lila .Mae Walker aivl Miss Mary Osguthorpe played host to 12 girls at party given ,at Miss Walker's home, Jan. '6. Guests included Elisc Tanner, Mary Ethel Ecelcs, CIco Holter Larrouy, La Von Woods Kudd, I'at Lanb .Newman, Lorelc Burt N'cl'f, Barbara Fisher, Beth Ash-ton Ash-ton Cutler, Lucille Baird Laul), and Mac Avery Kigby. Mae and her husband Truman and son Itohhy came to Salt Lake to spend the holidays. Truman has now returned to Chicago and his studies and will soon be joined by Mae and Robby. After a five-month stay in Alaska, Harold Nate, son of Mr. antl Mrs. V. Russell Xate, has returned to East Mill Creek for a few months. It was probably been employed by a construe tion company at Alaska. Wel-more Wel-more than a stay as Harold has come home, Harold! Jan. 1 and Jan. 5 were two big days in the Walker families, for on Jan. 1 a baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Nile Perkins. Per-kins. Mrs. Perkins is the former for-mer Elaine Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Earl Walker. Incidentally, Nile and Elaine are new members of East Mill Creek Ward as they are living at 2424 East Evergreen. On Jan. 5 a 9-pound, 4-ounce, baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Walker. Mothers and babies are doing fine and , we offer congratulations to all. Two East Mill Creek families were privileged to attend the 1!) 18 Kosebowl game in Pasadena, Pasa-dena, Calif., on New Year's Day. They were the Rudds and the lieesleys. Attending in the ltudd family were Mrs. Charles 1 Kudd, Mr. and Mrs. ;len Kudd, and .Iacki- Kudd. Mr. and Mrs. William lieesley took with them both Scott and Gay. lioth families drove down and from all accounts had a wonderful wonder-ful time. At 8 p.m. tonight, Friday, Jan. fi, members of the East Mill Creek Ward are cordially invited to attend, free of charge, a movie of Alaska taken by Brother Samuelson during his trip to Alaska last summer. A kodiak bear which he shot while up there is now on display in ZCMf. He will tell those attending attend-ing some of the facts concerning the capture of the bear said to lie one of the largest ones ever shot. After spending a quarter at the BYU Nina Lou Nel'f and Elayno Waller have once again decided to take up their residence resi-dence in East Mill Creek. They have started winter quarter at the University of Utah. Mrs. K. V. Chamberlin and her daughter, Arey, left last Sunday for California where they will Visit Mrs. Bryre Tangren who was reported being very ill. Mrs. Tangren is Mrs. Chamberlin's daughter, Helen. Latest reports indicate that Helen is well on the road to recovery. Something new has been added at the Granite High School and that is the introduction of a cadet teaching at the school. First student teacher to take training at Granite is Miss Mary Osguthorpe who is majoring in business education at the University, Uni-versity, and is practice teaching for three periods in the morning. morn-ing. The employes of Tod Ice Com-pony Com-pony and their partners were guests at a buffet supper given by Mr. and Mrs. Louis N. Bag-ley Bag-ley on Jan. 8. After everyone had eaten his fill of smoked turkey tur-key and all the trimmings, the remainder of the evening was spent in playing games. Elab-1 orate prizes were given to each |
