Show Ceirerrsimify Pledges Support As Polio Campaign Gets Underway The local March of Dimes campaign got under way Thursday with coin collecting boxes placed in 150 business establishments and with businessmen and individuals promising active support, Al Larsen, campagn chairman announced today. Sugar House district Boy Scouts Saturday distributed coin boxes throughout the district. dis-trict. Mr. Larson explained that while the scouts ran short of boxes, additional ones will be distributed next Saturday. Police Po-lice department supervised the distriblution of the boxes and will take charge of collecting them for the March of Dimes committee when the campaign is completed. Plans for the big Polio Benefit Bene-fit dance at Coconut Grove and the prize drawing for a 1948 automobile au-tomobile were not complete Thursday, Mr. 'Larsen said. However, tickets for both the dance and drawing will be on sale at the Seagull Drug Co. in Sugar House and at the Holla-day Holla-day Drug Co. in Holladay. Frank Withers, associated with the Holladay Polio Drive for many years, will again head that district's campaign, Mr. Larsen stated. Local theaters will cooperate with the March of Dimes, said Mr. Larsen. In Sugar House both the Mario and the South East will set up attractive displays dis-plays in their lobbies. Theme of these displays will "Wish 'em Well" wishing wells, wherein where-in contributioAs may be dropped. |
