The building committee is 1 working diligently and will surprise sur-prise us one of these days. Post Co and the state auxiliary are working together on Christ-1 mas packages for the veterans. J A request has been sounded for ; two packages from each post to bo distributed throughout the state to the veterans. I I The drum and bugle corps participated par-ticipated in the Sugar House parade pa-rade Saturday afternoon. At their Monday night meeting new routines were worked on. New musical numbers and parade marches were practiced. Work on appropriate Centennial music mu-sic is underway. , ' Auxiliary Christmas plans are underway. , ! Vice Commander McGhie now ' has a gym where his basketball team can practice. The fellows 1 are in good form, he reports. j j The bowling team is still ac-1 tive. Normandie Post No. 99 and ; Sugar House Post No. 65 are tied for- second place. The team has lost seven games, while it has won nine. The regular mcrting of I'ost Ki took place Thursday, Dec. 12 at H p.m. After the business of the meeting was completed, the initiation of all of the new members mem-bers ensued. The .drum and bugle corps was in al tendance to play for the Legionnaires. The executive committee met at the warden's office in the state prison, prior to the regular Thursday meeting, where they made preparations for the initiations initia-tions and planned the refreshments refresh-ments for the Dec. 12 assembly. After completion of their affairs the committee visited the Veterans' Vet-erans' hospital where they gave the fellows gum and cigarets. The veterans' Christmas package pack-age committee has been organized. organ-ized. Comprising the group are Comrades Max Young, Slieb McGhie, Mc-Ghie, Lcroy Coles, Walt liird, and Chaplain Howard Bring-liurst. Bring-liurst. Chairman Walt Stuigell will direct them. These Legionnaires Legion-naires met at Commander McDonald's Mc-Donald's home Friday where they decided that the wrapping of the presents will be done at the home of Comrade Leroy Coles. A collection of gifts for the veterans will be taken at the next regular meeting. Past Commader Ernie Hamilton Hamil-ton and Adjutant Horace Taylor have challenged Commander McDonald and Comrade Sheb McGhie to a membership drive race. They will oppose one an- |
