Show UTAH'S SCENERY SCORES AGAIN Al Morton, Salt Lake amateur movie photographei, lias wen the Hyrum Percy Maxium World Memorial Award for the best non-theatrical movie produced pro-duced this year. Morton's subject sub-ject was Utah's Colorado River. Titled "Adventure on the Cojo-rado" Cojo-rado" the picture was ilmed in southeastern Utah and portrays some of the finest river running scenes ever protographed on the Colorado. Morton is now on his way to the premier showing of his film and the receiving of the award at Hartford, Conn., where he will be a guest of the Amateur Cinema League of the World. Last year, Morton's picture, the "Call of the Canyons," also filmed in Utah, won third place in the Union Pacific movie contest con-test and has been released by the Utah department of publicity public-ity and industrial development as a loan film to be distributed throughout the nation to clubs, groups anad individuals interested inter-ested in seeing western scenic pictures. Incidentally the state publicity department has its eyes on Morton's Colorado River picture pic-ture as a similar medium to publicize pub-licize Utah. |
