MOFFITT j A most successful Christmas party was enjoyed by the Legionnaires Le-gionnaires and their families. The gala affair was held in the auditorium of the Continental Baking company. Everyone, induing in-duing the entertainers, received gifts. Merriment reigned. Those members not in attendance missed miss-ed the very fine program which was arranged by Mrs. Ernie HamiKon. Thanks to Comrade Boyer, Christmas party chairman chair-man and his committee, Christmas Christ-mas Eve was made very enjoyable. . The annual veterans' party was held on Christmas Eve at the Veterans' hospital. American Ameri-can Legion members from all parts of Utah distributed gifts to the ex-service veterans. For the fellows unable to leave their beds to attend the party packages pack-ages were delivered to the various var-ious wards where they were distributed dis-tributed individually. Gifts were also left for those veterans who were returning to the hospital after spending Christmas at their homes. Comrade Com-rade Bill Kroll of Post 65 was released re-leased from the hospital for Christmas. Many a youngster was made happier last week after talking to Sugar House's Santa Claus. Comrade Al Jorgeson did a fine job in this capacity. Congratulations, Con-gratulations, Al! The bowling team has now captured the first place spot. Post 2 forfeited four points to Post 05 boosting our boys up to first. The next regular meeting will be held January 9. Be sure to attend. Commander McDonald has something important to announce an-nounce concerning our new home. Graveside services were held at Bountiful for Veteran Wallace Calvin Brough of Alcora, Wyo. Post 65 participated at the service. serv-ice. Comrade John Grubb sound-, ed Taps. The flag ceremony was carried out by Comrades Iversen and Latsis. The Ladies' auxiliary was busy distributing gifts to the needy the day before Christmas and Christmas Eve. They are to be commended for their excellent work. The Legionnaires of Post 65 and their families extend their wish for a very happy and prosperous pros-perous New Year. |
