Show Thanks to Sugar House Lions THE Sujjar House Lions have received the wholehearted approbation ap-probation of the community at large for the aggressive stand which they have taken on the project to build a public rest room in Sugar House. The Chamber of Commerce has promised 1(X) per cent cooperation with the Lions in this . project. proj-ect. Sugar House businessmen, residents and shoppers alike are united in their agreement of the great need for such a' public pub-lic building. 4 Twjweeks ago the Lions placed in the hands of the city commission a letter urging action on their proposal. The Lions offered the commissioners blue prints and the plans they have gathered over a two year period . . . the results of an extensive study made by Lion Member Lincoln T. Hansen arid his com-mitee. com-mitee. In addition, the Lions backed up their proposals by offering of-fering $750.00 "toward this undertaking." There is no longer a "need" for a public rest room, as Mr. Hansen stated in his letter; it is now "a .must." The truth 6i this statement cannot be denied. There is no public comfort station in the entire community. Why this project was not brought to the attention' of city officials long ago is a most amazing thing. The matter now has been brpughtj to the attention of the city commission, however. We trust that it will be acted upon favorably. . . . and soon. The people of Sugar House and the people who make this their shopping center owe a debt of gratitude to the Sugar House Lions Club for their public spirited spirit-ed action in bringing this matter to the 'attqntioji of the collision colli-sion and to the general public. |
