Show Daniel Webster Antiques Had Adventurous Career BOSTON. Precious household belongings be-longings of Daniel Webster, displayed dis-played at the New England Antiques exposition, had adventurous careers. First, they were nearly destroyed when the Webster homestead burned to the ground in Marshfield. Then they disappeared from view for decades, dec-ades, finally turning up in a Dorchester Dor-chester warehouse to be turned over to the exposition. Included among the articles was a card table with a folding top made of rosewood. It was said to have been brought back from Europe by Webster when he was secretary of state in 1839. |
