Show Drops Mail in Wrong Box, Stops Traffic in Town BELLEVILLE, ILL. One stray letter and six souvenir postcards snarled traffic at Main and High streets while street department employees em-ployees worked frantically to remove re-move them from a paralyzed traffic signal control box. An absent-minded absent-minded visitor to the city dropped the letter and cards in a slot of the control box instead of a nearby mail depository. Postmaster Herman G. Wangelin wiped the grease off the stray mail and sent it on its way. Traffic moved again too. |
