Show Public Health Local health officers reports sent to the Utah State Board of Health show a total of 452 cases of communicable diseases for the week ending March 14. This is a slight reduction from the number num-ber of cases reported during the previous week and approximately 200 cases fewer than were reported report-ed for the same week in 1940. German measles leads the list of communicable diseases with a total of 109 cases, 35 of them were reported from Moab, Gvand County. One case of undulant fever was reported from Ogden City. The attending physician reported that his patient has been drinking raw milk. Eight cases of tuberculosis were reported, 6 of the patients were under 16 years of age. Four of these youngsters were in families fam-ilies from which adult tubercu- )losis had been previously reported. report-ed. The venereal diseases gonorrhea, gonorr-hea, syphilis, show an increase over the previous week. Other diseases reported were as follows: chickenpox 92 influenza influ-enza 22, measles 32, pneumonia 12, mumps 30, scarlet fever 16, whooping cough 92, other tuberculosis tuber-culosis 1, gonorrhea 10; and syph ilis 27. Eleven of the 29 counties in the state reports "no diseases." |
