Show FOUNDERS' DAY WILL BE CELEBRATED Celebrating the Eighty-FourthC anniversary of the founding of Sugar House, the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce is sponsor-' sponsor-' ing a Founder's Day fete with special sales, program and street dancing as a tentative plan. H. Scott Linnell is general chairman of the event. A meeting of all committeemen (so far named) was held Wednesday Wednes-day evening in the Sugar House Library, and the plans laid, subject sub-ject to execution following a report re-port from the finance committee, which is led by Harold Chesler Merchants of the district were contacted last week by Paul Fred-rickson Fred-rickson and voiced their willingness willing-ness to cooperate in every detail with their fellow merchants to put over a big sales day on April 23. Mr. Fredrickson stated that it' the plans of his committee go through as at .present arranged, 'the sale will be held Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Arrangements Arrange-ments are being made to have some special event to attract shoppers shop-pers to the district, either in the awarding of prizes hy the individual indivi-dual stores or by a central grand prize. Steven Richards was appointed appoint-ed at Wednesday's meeting to make arranegments for a good program in the early evening and Sam Nicholes was appointed to make arrangements for a street dance in the late evening. Although the plans are at present pres-ent not definitely set. H. K Richmond, Rich-mond, publicity chairman, stated that it was the census of Wednesday's Wednes-day's meeting to carry them out if the necessary funds are raised and the finance committee had pledges that would cover the greater amount needed. |
