Show Hospital at Fort Douglas, Utah. H The 18-year-old soldier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard R. Clinger, 1057 S. 11th, E, is a 1958 graduate of East High School. J WS from th I "Army Specialist Four, Douglas Doug-las R. Jones, 22, whose wife, I Phyllis, lives at 201 S. Witmer, j Los Angeles, Calif., recently graduated from the 9th Infantry In-fantry Non-Commissioned Officer Of-ficer Academy in Alaska. Specialist Jones received refresher training in map and compass reading, military tactics and leadership., Jones is regurlarly assigned as a teletype supervisor in I the Yukon Command's Signal Sig-nal Company at Ladd Air Force Base. He entered the Army in June 1957 and arrived in Alaska the following Nov. Jones, son of Mrs. Lucille D. Humphrey, 1160 Foulger St., attended South High. Pvt. Norman G. Hale, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hale, 7288 S. State St., is on temporary duty at the Presidio of San Francisco where he is competing for a berth on the All-Army basketball team. Soldiers from Army installations instal-lations throughout the world have gathered at the California site to try out for the team which will enter the National AAU tournament, a stepping stone to the Pan American games. Hale, who is regurlarly stationed at Fort Hood, Tex., is a member of the 35th Armor's Company A. The 1958 University of Utah graduate entered the Army last September and received basic training at Fort Hood. Pvt. Joel C. Clinger completed com-pleted 14 weeks of medical training Feb. 27, at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Tex., marking the end of his six months of active military duty under the Reserve Forces Act program. pro-gram.
