It's "Crunchy Salmon Loaf," made with crushed round buttery crackers, canned salmon and tasty seasonings. A single one-poun- d can of salmon is .enough for four generous family-styl- e servings. The crushed crackers add both good texture and nourishing quantity to thi3 new main dish. Make it this easy way: Crunchy Salmon Loaf 1 1-l- b. can salmon, und rained 2 eggs, beaten 2 cups finely crushed Hi Ho cup milk Cracker crumbs y2 teaspoon salt 1 cup minced celery 4 teaspoon pepper 2 tablespoons minced onion 1 teaspoon prepared mustard Heat oven to 375 F. (moderately hot oven). Combine all in-gredients in a large bowl, mixing well. Turn mixture into a 4 greased fish mold (or a 9-in- by loaf pan) . Bake at 375 F. for 40 minutes. Unmold on to heated serving platter, and sprinkle with additional crumbs. If fish mold is used, arrange two halved crackers to form "tail," and two slices of stuffed olive for "eyes." Garnish with parsley sprigs. Serve with chili sauce, if desired. Hospital at Fort Douglas, Utah. H The soldier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard R. Witmer, j Los Angeles, Calif., recently graduated from the 9th In-fantry ed Of-ficer Academy in Alaska. Specialist Jones received refresher training in map and compass reading, military tactics and leadership., Jones is regurlarly assigned as a teletype supervisor in I the Yukon Command's Sig-nal Company at Ladd Air Force Base. He entered the Army in June 1957 and arrived in Alaska the following Nov. Jones, son of Mrs. Lucille D. Humphrey, 1160 Foulger St., attended South High. Pvt. Norman G. Hale, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hale, 7288 S. State St., is on temporary duty at the Presidio of San Francisco where he is competing for a berth on the All-Arm- y basketball team. Soldiers from Army instal-lations throughout the world have gathered at the California site to try out for the team which will enter the National AAU tournament, a stepping stone to the Pan American games. Hale, who is regurlarly stationed at Fort Hood, Tex., is a member of the 35th Armor's Company A. The 1958 University of Utah graduate entered the Army last September and received basic training at Fort Hood. Pvt. Joel C. Clinger com-pleted 14 weeks of medical training Feb. 27, at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Tex., marking the end of his six months of active military duty under the Reserve Forces Act pro-gram. Clinger is scheduled to spend the remainder of his military service with the 328th General t! " Ft - i I fi' " '1 - $ ,' , I Army Pvt. Donald M. Gamble 19, whose wife, Clara, lives at 14223 S. 1700, W., recently was graduated from the 82d Airborne Division Jump School at Fort Bragg, N. C. He re- -. ceived his coveted paratrooper wings after completing four weeks of intensive ground and arial training which included five parachute jumps. Gamble entered the Army last June. The son of Mr. and Mrs. James O. Gamble, 585 Germania ave. he attended Jordan High School and was employed by Garrett Freightlines before entering the Army. AWAYfrom home? As the name indicates, complete examinations are not given but are directed at only those areas of the body where cancer is thought to exist. Patients are referred back to their family doctor for further diagnostic procedures and or treatment when in-dicated. Cancer Society Holds Clinic The American Cancer So-ciety,, Utah Division, in co-operation with Salt Lake Co-unty Medical Society, has scheduled a cancer symptom center to be held on March 18th at Division Headquarters, 176 Social Hall Avenue. Registration will be held on March 12 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Only those persons who register can be examined at the Center.
