Red with brown, red with black, red with white, blue.belge , et al. There hasn't been such an accent on one vibrant color in a long time. There was a fashion in shoes that persisted for many years during the 18th century that of the red heeled shoes. This was also true of men's shoes, and red heels on shoes was consid-ered most stylish. Today, shoe manufacturers are offering the most delectably smart shoes of red color in every material imaginable. Calf, patent, satin, lace, brocade, etc. All in red are made into shoes, to be smartly worn with every-thing. For this fashion it is also suggested to wear stock-ings with a pink tint. Color tints in hosiery are particularly new this spring and may be found in blues, greys, greens and yel-lows. The beige bare-legge- d look is not the high fashion now. Every woman must have at least one pair of red shoes, this spring and summer. You'll love wearing them with all the com-plimentary colors everywhere you go. Scout Briefs A Girl Scout Leadership Train ins program is being conducted this course in Scout Leadership will be ready to take over a scout troop of their own. Mount View Neighborhood Troop No. 218 will present the colors at the Founders Day Par-ent Teachers Association meet-ing on February 28th. under the direction of Mrs. Mar-garet Riley at her home at 3639 Palisade Drive. At the first four scheduled meetings, held February 11th from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 the pjn., meeting was a model of what should be followed at a regular Scout meting. Twenty-fou- r mothers from the entire Salt iake Area were present, to enjoy the films show-ing how to become a girl scout leader and how a camping trip is planned and carried out. Among the important things stressed for the leaders to know was what to expect emotionally from each group of girls, some of the songs, dances and rythm games that the leaders are ex-pected to be able to share with their girls and how the various scouting funds are earned and raised and how these funds are allocated. Although it was an interesting and informative session and mothers who attended are look-ing forward to the next three classes, scheduled for February 13th, 18th, and 20th. Socials Planned By Couples Club After a very successful "get-acquaint- ed kick-o- ff dance held on January 24th in the Holla-da- y Community Church social hall, a. newly organized group of couples, know as The Couples Club, in that church are planning a season of fun and fellowship. Organzied to include all the Mr. and Mrs. members of the church, , evenings of dancing and refreshment are planned for the fourth Friday of. each month. Bob and Kathy Schillings are in charge of the next get-togeth- er, to be held at the church on the evening fo February ,28th at 8:30 p.m. Informaiity is x stressed and casual wear will be the key-note of dress. With the aim of strengthening the fellowship and friendships within the church, an invitation is extended to all of the Mr. and Mrs. who are members of the church to come and enjoy a truly evening of fun. Mrs. Bernice Shelburn, co-direc- tor of the Holladay, Cotton-wood and Mt. View Day Camps is starting a Day Camp directors training course on February 5th. The training wil beunde r the direction of Miss Dorothy Cap-ene- r, a professional Girl Scout Program Director. Courses will be held in the Girl Scout office in the United FFund Building at 72 West 2nd South. ...The Day Camp for this area will be held June 6th through the 20th at a primative camp site at about 7800 South 2500 East and will be under the di-rection of Holladay Neighbor-hood Director, Mrs. Carl Ohran. Westminster Hosts Fraternity Confab The Los Caballeros chapter of Intercollegiate Knights at West, minster College will be host February 22 to the annual Regional Convention pf this service fraternity, it was an-nounced Saturday by Mike Dakis, Westminster chapter president. The University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Utah State University and College of Sout-hern Utah also will participate. This is the first time the con-vention, has been held at West-minster. BYU was host in 1957. It is expected that well more than a hundred Knights will attend the convention, at which time a' new regional Viceroy and other officers will be elected. J. Cardell Lufkin of Brigham Young University is the present Regional Viceroy. The main feature of the day will be the selection of a Region-al Princess. Each of five chapters will select a Duchess in advance of the convention, who will participate . in the . contest on the 22nd. The winner will then go to the National Convention in Denver in April to compete for the title of Royal Queen. At the Salt Lake convention the contestants for Princess will make a tour of the city.accom-panie- d by the judges and will be feted at a noon luncheon and at a banquet later in order that the judges become better ac-quainted with each candidate. Selection of a regional winner will be made on appearance, poise and personality. The schedule of events for the day as set up by Mr. Dakis and Dick Nichols, vice president, covers registration, 8:30-9:3- 0 a.m.; general assembly, :30 a.m.; group meetings, 10:30-11:3- 0 a.m.; lunch, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; "general assembly, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.; banquet, 3:30 p.m. in the student lounge. The Westminster Knights, as a part of their service program, served as sponsor at the college for the. Toys for Tots campaign of the U. S. Marine Carps during the Christmas season.
