Show New Emergency Brochure Being Distributed In Farm. By KATHRYN JENNINGS The Farmington City Council met in special session on May 23, for a work session on the 1984-85 municipal budget. MAYOR MERRILL Petty asked Max Forbush, city manager, to go through the proposed budget and explain the various phases for consideration. con-sideration. The council will work out budget problems and it will soon be ready for final approval. RON NELSON, public works su-perintendent, su-perintendent, reported on the Rudd Creek problem which has had a considerable amount of slippage slip-page the past few days. It seems that underground springs are probably prob-ably responsible for this sloughing at the present time. The new debris basin has been adequate for the problems up to this time. A new brochure is being distributed distri-buted to citizens throughout the city, "A Common Sense Approach to an Emergency in Farmington City." THIS BROCHURE was prepared pre-pared in an effort to help all citizens be sensitive and prepared for any potential emergency in the area. The city personnel has developed de-veloped a four level apprpach to respond to any emergency which may arise. All citizens are requested re-quested to "stay calm, don't panic or react," to any emergency. Citizens are asked to "wait for directions, rely on your neighborhood neighbor-hood area and district coordinators for information." "GO THROUGH channels which are advised by officials, you will save yourself and others time and effort." The Emergency Preparedness Council (EPC) will be on standby alert, under the direction of the city manager and other city personnel. A MAP on the back of the brochure, shows district and area coordinators and citizens should all know their area coordinators and keep his or her name and telephone tele-phone number, to use at a moments notice, if necessary. If you feel that it is necessary, all residents should tune in to these radio stations for up to the minute information on any emergency conditions, KSL-1160, KBBX-1600 KBBX-1600 AM and KFA-700 AM EVACUATION shelters are Farmington Junior High School at 150 South 200 West, which is the primary shelter, if necessary, other places would be the elementary schools and churches. The five potential flooding streams in the Farmington area are Davis Creek, Steed Creek, Rudd Creek, Farmington Creek and She-pard She-pard Creek.
