A meeting of the Roosevext Republican Women's organization organiza-tion will be held Friday, November No-vember 11, at 2:30 p-. m. at the Roosevelt Coffee Shop., for the purpose of electing officers and reorganizing the club. All Republican Re-publican women are urged to attend. . Annual dues may be paid at the meeting. Kent Nelson, a student at U j of U, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. George Harrison Harri-son and Mrs. Jessie Robison returned Tuesday afternoon after af-ter a combined business and pleasure trip to Salt Lake. City, where Mr. Harrison attended the Fish and Game Commission hearings in his official capacity as chairman of the commissioin. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Oldroyd and daughters, Renee and Peggy, Peg-gy, spent Friday in Salt Lake. Mrs. Thomas R. Todd motored to American Fork to attend a week-end meeting of parents at the Utah State Training school, Mike Kastrinakis and Mrs. Alton Al-ton Forakis, of Lapoint, and Mrs. Petro Forakis and baby,- of Whiterocks, motored to Salt Lake last week to visit Petro Forakis, who underwent an operation op-eration recently at the Veterans hospital. Mrs. Forakis remained in Salt Lake with her husband, who is rapidly improving. A request has been sent out that all persons who have extra sleeping accomodations available during the pheasant season leave their names with the service ser-vice stations, restaurants, hotels and tourist parks. A good many hunters who wish to spend the pheasant season here are being turned away because all hotels and tourist park accommodations accommoda-tions have been reserved for the three days of the season. Mrs.' May Calder, of Vernal, is a guest at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. .and 'Mrs. R. V. Larson. Lawrell Jensen, principal at Roosevelt high school, attended a state convention of Explorer Scouts held at Clearfield Navy Supply Depot over the weekend. week-end. One representative from each school district was admitted admit-ted to tne convention. Mr. Jensen Jen-sen attended as the representative represen-tative of the Duchesne county school district. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Wardle have received word of the. ar-j rival of a grandchild, a boy born October 27 to Mr. and Mrs. William Litster, of Salt Lake City. James Hall, a student at U of U, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Heber T. Hall. Also home for the weekend week-end was LeRoy Pulps, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pulos. LeRoy Le-Roy is a sophomore at BYU. Robert E-. Rallison, of Logan, is how associated with the local Soil Conservation service. Mrs. Seth Wilson underwent an operation last week at the LDS hospital. in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Omni Winterton and Mr. Wilson drove to Salt Lake Tuesday to visit with her. Mrs. John Christensen has returned home after a short visit with relatives and friends in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Murel F. Benson, Ben-son, Dr. and Mrs. R. V. Larson, Bishop and M s. E. J. Nixon, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harris and family, Mr. and Mrs. Omni Winterton, Win-terton, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Todd and James E. Bacon, particpated in tlfe LDS temple excursion to Salt Lake City, Monday and Tuesday. The Roosevelt Baptist church sponsored three Hallowe'en parties par-ties over the week-end; one each for the junior and intermediate Sunday school class, the young people's cteas and the adult class, The parties, staged in the basement of the church, featured fea-tured the usual Hallowe'en decorations. dec-orations. All parties were well attended. Horace AllredB. O. Colton, Senator Lynn Orser and Louie Galloway are attending the NRA convention being held in Salt Lake City. Guests at the Lynn Orser residence during the week were Mrs. Orser's sister, Mrs. George P. Parker, of Salt Lake City, and Representative and Mrs. J. W. Robinson, who have just returned re-turned from Washington, D. C. Paul Nelson and Theron Lea-vitt Lea-vitt left Wednesday to attend a convention of Hudson dealers in session at Denver. Bert Gardner Gard-ner accompanied them, Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Bentley, of Los Angeles, left Saturday after having visited here since September 26. They arrived to visit Mrs. Bentley's mother, Mrs. John W. Galloway, who died unexpectedly, October 3. Their return was delayed by an automobile accident on Oct. 12 which hospitalized both Mr. and Mrs. Bentley. Rev. Charles Ray, of the Roosevelt Baptist church, will attended the Baptist general con vention of Arizona, at Phoenix, Nov. 8-10. The convention is composed of Southern Baptist churches in the states of Arizona, Ari-zona, Colorado, and Utah. Jack Alexander and Phil Harrison, Har-rison, students at BYU were home for the week-end. Dan J. Eastman, field director di-rector Of the University of Utah Alumni association, was in Roosevelt Roos-evelt during the week to make plans for the annual Founders Day banquet to beheld in February, Feb-ruary, and to spur U of U alumni alum-ni activity in the local organization. organiza-tion.
