Peggy Oldroyd, Society Reporter SURPRISE PARTY Receiving' best wishes recently recent-ly was Robert Hall, who was honored with a surprise party at his home on October 6, in celebration of his 71st birthday anniversary. . Gathered to extend then-greetings then-greetings were Mr. and Mrs. Jack McArthur, Mr. and Mrs. W W Workman, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hall, Mrs. Pearl Swain, Mrs. Stanley Hall, Mrs. Frank McClure, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gardner and Mrs. Robert Hall. Among the gifts received by Mr. Hall was a very special treat a long distance call from his children in California, who sang "happy birthday" to him over the phone. BIRTHDAY PARTY A beautiful birthday cake, adorned in shades of pink, blue and white, and topped with four lighted candles, set the scene for festivities at the Har- old Gardner residence, Oct. 12, when little Susan Dawn Gardner celebrated her anniversary. Other small fry who attended the celebration were Connie Jean Wilkins, Connie Labrum, Diane Labrum, Shirley Wyatt, Linda McArthur, Sidney Rock-wood, Rock-wood, Lynn McCullough and Johnny Gardner. JUST-A-MERE Charming hospitality prevailed prevail-ed at the home of Mrs. Clair Larsen, Friday evening, Oct. 28, when she entertained members mem-bers of Just-A-Mere club at a bridge luncheon. Her guest list included Mrs. Farrell Wilkins, Mrs'. Reva Owen, Mrs. Ed Labrum, Mrs. Grant Killian, Mrs. Darrell Walker, Mrs. Ted Jensen; and Mrs. Clem Labrum. Bridge prides were won by Mrs. Wilkins, Mrs. Owen and Mrs. Labrum. BRIDGETTE The Hallowe'en spirit was in full swing at the Steve Bellon residence last Thursday evening when Mrs. Bellon entertained members of her club. Miniature ghosts, witches and bats, displayed in artistic arrangement, ar-rangement, formed a seasonal background for a delightful luncheon. Hallowe'en nut cups marked places for Mrs. Johnnie Cook, Mrs. Pearl Labrum, Mrs. Elmer Eldredge, Mrs. Orson Stevens, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Verland Nelson, Mrs. Mar-vell Mar-vell Neilson and Mrs. Ned Bellon. Bel-lon. Bridge formed the diversion following luncheon, with prizes being won by Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Rawlings and Mrs. Neilson. THOUGHT AND THIMBLE Mrs. Harold Dillman was hostess host-ess to members of Thought and Thimble club at her home Thursday evening, October 27. A tempting two-course luncheon lunch-eon was served at one large table, effectively centered with a glowing jack-o-lantern, which provided the room's only illumination. illum-ination. Black cats, witches and bats added further Hallowe'en atmosphere to the setting. Enjoying the festivities were Mrs. Art Allen, Mrs. Jess Edmonds, Ed-monds, Mrs. James Butcher, Mrs. Farrell Wilkins, Mrs. Jack Redmond, Mrs. Joe Snyder, Mrs. Olen Perryman, Mrs. Grant Kil-lian, Kil-lian, and Mrs. Bert Johnson. NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Members of Neighborhood Sewing club enjoyed a pleasant social evening at the home of Mrs. Stanley Hall, Wednesday evening, October 25. A delicious salad-course luncheon lunch-eon was featured. The meeting was called to order or-der by Captain Lila Nickell. Prayer was offered by Mrs. Florence Neilson. The minutes of the Sept. 23 meeting were read and approved and the rag drive committee reported that the Roosevelt camp has sent 450 pounds of rags to Salt Lake City thus far. Mrs. Lela Harsh gave the lesson and closing' prayer was offered by Mrs. Pearletta Workman. The afternoon's activities terminated ter-minated with a delicious lunch served to Mrs. Lila Nickell, Mrs. Helen Howell, Mrs. Olive Harrison, Mrs. Pearletta Workman, Work-man, Mrs. Margaret Wiscombe. Mrs. Romola Walker, Mrs. Alice Labrum, Mrs. Clara Timothy, Mrs. Aliza Gilbert, Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Rudy, Mrs. Mildred Smith, Mrs. Florence Neilson, Mrs. Alma Al-ma Anderson, Mrs. Lela Harsh, Mrs. Alta Phillips, Mrs. Mat-tie Mat-tie Edwards and Mrs. Mary Or-ser. TUESDAY BRIDGE The Frontier Grill was the scene of gay festivities on Ne,V: I when Mrs. Vean Bair extended hospitality to members of her club. A prettily appointed dessert lunpheon" and an evening pi bridge formed the diversion enjoyed en-joyed by Mrs. Morris Lewis, Mrs. Myrtle Lambert, Mrs. Glenn Wyler. Mrs. Axel Birch, Mrs. Lynn Orser, Mrs. Paul Wilkins, Mrs. Robert Huish, Mrp, Sam Weiss, Mrs. Fred Ferron, Mrs. Jack McLea, Mrs. Ray Jordan, Mrs. Clair Ashton, Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, Mrs. Eugene Harmston, Mrs. Lester Mulllns, Mrs. Gordon Harmston, Mrs. Marvell Neilson, Mrs: Verland Nelson and Mrs. Wayne Malin. Bridge prides went to Mrs. Mullins, Mrs. Wilkins and Mrs. Schmiett. Mrs. Axel Birch was hostess to members and guests of Tuesday Tues-day Bridge club, October 25, at the Frontier Grill.
