Show ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL To the tune of many noise makers the "Ro-Hi" staff's carnival car-nival dance was a confetti-strewn confetti-strewn success. Staged Friday, OctQber 28, at tne high school gym, the event was well attended. at-tended. Besides dancing to the music of Alexander's band, a fish-pond and confetti counter drew the dimes of the crowd. Jay Swain, Roosevelt high senior , held the lucky number for which a portable radio was the prize. Intermission brought the an-, nouncement that Ruth Burr and Kenneth Nickell, freshmen, had been voted King and Queen of the Year-Book by majority student stu-dent ballot. This new royalty, whose pictures will grace a featured fea-tured place in the Ro-Hi, were crowned and sat rnthroned during dur-ing intermission. The Year-book staff acted as committeemen for the dance. Liane Bertoch, editor, was general gen-eral chairman; while Lawrence Wilson, business manager, supervised super-vised finance, fish-pond and radio ra-dio lottery; Grace Colton, jun-ion jun-ion associate editor, was chairman chair-man of advertising- and decorating decorat-ing committee; Joyce Burr took charge of the refreshment sale. Vola Hancock and Virgie Murphy, Mur-phy, advisors, assisted with arrangements, ar-rangements, and Don Crittenden Critten-den and R. L. Nielson, of the faculiy, were very helpful, the former as announcer for the intermission in-termission floor show; the latter as manager of ticket sa'es. Assembly, Friday, Oct. 28, ca ned out a Hallowe'en spook theme. As Joyce Burr announced an-nounced the numbers, she was interrupted by what sounded like a ghost (do ghosts sound?), but which was Edith Hardfnger all the time. This pair, announcer announc-er Joyce and spook Edith, carried car-ried on a dialoeue w;?ich made sure that everyone heard announcements an-nouncements oi the program numbers, a summary of which follows: Mrs. Hancock sang.
