Show SCHOOL TO MOVE Preparations are being made to move down to the Todd School during the Christmas holidays. The first six grades will move, and the Junior High students will be taken down there for lunch. All kitchen workers, Mrs. Agnes Walker, Mrs. Reva Hall, Mrs. Ellen Bracken and EIRoy Walker will prepare the lunches down in the new school. Mrs. Howard Andrews prepared a dinner for Frank Warthen of Spingville, Ralph Warthen of Salt Lake City, also for Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Allred and Eliza Warthen of Vernal, immediately after the funeral of their mother, Mrs. Amy Warthen. Mr. and John Birchell were also present. Supt. Max Abbott, Glen Oldroyd and A. A. Call of Vernal were visitors at Alterra Friday, enjoying lunch at school and checking conditions con-ditions at the Todd School. FORMER RESIDENT DIES Ballard residents were saddened to hear of the death of Mrs. Amy R. Warthen in Salt Lake City last Monday. The Warthens were early residents of the Basin and lived and raised their family on their farm ten miles north of the Ballard chapel. After the family had all married and moved away, Mr. and Mrs. Warthen moved 'to Roosevelt. , 'Russel Todd and Leland Angus were speakers at the funeral held in Roosevelt Thursday Dec. 13, and John Cook and Le Roy Goodrich Good-rich gave the prayers. We extend our sympathy to the family. Clyde Allred has been on the sick list the past two weeks. Ballard Explorers walked off with high honors again at the Court of Honor held at Montwel last Sunday. MEET AT GUSHER Primary preparation meeting was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ellis at Moffat on Thursday. Dec. 13 with a good attendance. Lois Cook presented the In-service lesson and Osa Hullinger the scriptural scrip-tural lesson. Some time was spent in a social with Mary Collins, Mary Hullinger, Alice Squire and Chell Todd assisting Mrs. Ellis as hostess. |
