Show School Has Gala Party On Friday The studentbody sponsored a Carnival dance at Altamont last Friday night. Each class was responsible for a booth. The seventh had a spook alley; 8th had darts and fortune telling; ninth had a wheel of fortune i and a bingo game; tenth had an auction of goods seen and unseen, un-seen, also punch, cider and doughnuts; eleventh sold serpentine; ser-pentine; twelfth had a softball throw and a turkey drawing. Mrs. Hardy Perkins won the turkey. Bob Clark won first prize at the softball throw; Dal Seeley won second prize; Bob Feldsted won third prize; Max Brotherson won fourth prize and there were six dozen others won at this booth. The prizes for the best ladies' costumes went to Charleen and Chelle Swasey, for the best man's it went to Delbert Davies. Art Smith's orchestra furnished the music for the dance. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Thacker were in town last weekend getting get-ting some of their things before their transfer from Coalville to another state on .their job. Mr. Johnny Lambert was in Salt Lake on business last week. Mrs. Evan Hansen substituted substitu-ted as a teacher for the sixth grade two days last week while Mrs. Aleen Case was home ill. Mrs. Max Hartman accompanied accompan-ied by Lary, Sherry and Laid went to Peoa Monday to attend at-tend the funeral of their uncle, John K. Lemon, who was a former resident of Ioka. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Timothy were out visitinrtheir relatives a week ago for the weekend. Mrs. Tom Richards and her children of Salt Lake City came out with Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Merkeley and stayed for several days, returning last Wednesday with her parents who went to Salt Lake for a couple of days. Mr. and Mrs. Linden Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Hansen went to Salt Lake and returned last Sunday, except for Mrs. Evan Hansen who remained to , receive medical attention and to visit relatives. She will return re-turn Friday. Lawrence and Perry Young went Salt Lake last Sunday and Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lynden Hansen visited Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hansen Han-sen Sunday afternoon. |
