Show Union Goes to Park City Friday In First Grid Game The 1953 football season for the Cougars from Union High and their personable new coach, Horace D. Gillespie, will make its debut next Friday, Sept. 11, at Park City, when they meet the Miners in the first game of the season. Efforts are being expended toward to-ward lining up a few extra practice games for the Cougars, but to date little luck is the result. The weekends of Sept. 18 and Oct. 2 are still open dates and home games are being sought for those two dates. Following is the schedule for the Cougars as reported by Coach Gillespie: Sept. 11 at Park City. Sept. 18 Open Date. Sept. 25 At Moab (League). Oct. 2 Open Date. Arrangements have been made by the Utah High School Activities Association for the winner in Region 5 to play the winner of Regions 4 and 6, Delta, Del-ta, Millard North Sanpete and Wasatch Academy. The winner of this play-off will meet the winner in Region 3 in the semifinals. |
