Show Rheumatic Fever Talk Given For BPW Members Cleverly decorated in a festive fes-tive Harvest theme was the banquet table for BPW Club members Monday night, who found their places to various designed candy favors, with larger caricatures serving as table decorations. A huge squasn surrounded with grapes formed the centerpiece, with green tapers tap-ers in shiny apple holders completing- the scheme Co-hostesses for the evening were Ida Harrison, Virgie Murphy, Mur-phy, Wanda Riggle and Vola Hancock. Piano solos and a duet du-et were presented by Laura Ann Leavitt and Linda Schmiett. Guest speaker for the evening was Martha Shanks, who reported report-ed on the rheumatic fever clinic which she attended for the BPW Club last summer. A short business session followed, fol-lowed, with Elva McLea, vice-president, vice-president, taking charge. Reports Re-ports were given by the presi-dent. presi-dent. Blanche Murphy, on twn civic meetings which she had at tended during the evening. One concerned the building of a swimming pool for Roosevelt, and the club went on record H3 supporting the project in any way possible. New members introduced included in-cluded Sadie Blank, Lenore Hutchings, Hut-chings, Suzanne Fiske, Kate Smith and Florence Rosecrans. Other new members recently joining the club were Arlet'.a Williams. Phyllis Wardle. Bette Eldredge and Donna Corwin. Monday, December 15. is the date selected by the group present for the annual Chris mas party. |
