Jenten County Agricultural Agent , 4-H Club members were given another opportunity when the Utah Council of Farmer's Cooperatives Co-operatives invited representatives representa-tives to be their guests at the annual meeting in Salt pake on November 17-' 17-' Hi-Land Dairy is sponsoring the attendance of the following 4-H Club members from Duchesne Du-chesne County: Carol Todd, Roosevelt; Maurine Yack. Roosevelt; Roos-evelt; John Percival, Ioka; and Jackie Foy, Duchesne. ' 1 j I received the following letter from the . County Agent of Sanpete San-pete County: "Some time ago, Henry Miller, Mil-ler, of Manti, imported from Illinois a carload of prize Chester Ches-ter White pigs. From this stock he has bred the outstanding flock in Utah. "Recently, Henry has made up ; his mind to finish college, which will necessitate two years, and he is preparing to sell most of these "prize pigs. "It may be that some of them will be sold at market price, which I think is a serious mistake, mis-take, but if you have anyone in your county interested in purchasing pur-chasing top quality. Chester White pigs at a real price, I would suggest that you contact either LaMont or Henry Miller at Manti." ' Twenty-five Duchesne County school teachers interested in soil and water conservation are attending at-tending a class each Thursday evening to learn more about this vital subject. On Saturday, November 22, a Field Day will be conducted as a part of the course. There is room for about ten more people to go with us. Anyone interested should contact me. The tour begins at the Junior High School in Roosevelt at 8 a. m. The trip will be made bv bus to the following points: Duchesne; Du-chesne; Tabiona.via the Golden Stairs; Hanna, Talmage, via the Blue Bench; Boneta, Altamont and return to Roosevelt. - Interesting things to be observed ob-served and explained include: Geology of the Uintah Basin. Soils, Plant Ecology. Watersheds. Water-sheds. Irrigation, Range Management, Manage-ment, Needs for Conservation, and Examples of Conservation Practices. Now that most beef cattle are off the ranges and close around home, is a good time to have those heifer calves vaccinated for Bangs disease. If there is any reason to suspect the presence pres-ence of this disease in vour herd, it is advisable to ,have the cows tested. The work may be requested re-quested by contacting my offic. .
