Show Stockmen Advised To Record Brands Prior To Dec. 31 The State Department of Agriculture Ag-riculture reminds stockmen who have not re-recorded the brands and marks planned for use on livestock during the 1950 - 60 period, that they should do so before December 31, 1950. Any mark or brand not properly rerecorded re-recorded on or before Dec. 31, may be applied for by any other individual. For the protection of all owners own-ers of livestock, whether such livestock be kept in corrals, private pastures, or on open range, all livestock should be branded with a recorded brand. In case they have strayed or been stolen, livestockmen will stand a better chance of recovery re-covery if their animals are properly pro-perly branded and brands recorded, re-corded, than if they were not branded, or were branded with an unrecorded brand. It is unlawful to use marks or brands that are not properly proper-ly recorded or to let animals over six months of age run un-branded un-branded outside of private enclosures. en-closures. The State Brand Inspection department is set up for the protection pro-tection of the livestock producers pro-ducers throughout the state. It would minimize the loss in the livestock business in the state if all in the state would cooperate cooper-ate with district brand inspectors inspect-ors and more fully observe the following: 1. When buying or selling livestock, insist that a properly executed bill of sale is made out. This should accompany livestock to final destination. 2 Be sure that all livestock moving from one brand inspection inspec-tion district t o another gets proper inspection from your brand inspector at point of origin. or-igin. This inspection sheet should accompany livestock in transit. 3. Notify your sheriff and brand inspector promptly upon loss of livestock or of suspicious actions of killing, hauling', or driving of livestock from farm pasture or range. |
