Show SOCIETY Peggy Oldroyd, Society Reporter JUST-A-MERE Members of Just-A-Mere club were delightfully entertained at the home of Mrs. Darrell Walker, Walk-er, Thursday evening, Feb. 23. A tempting dessert luncheon and an evening of bridge were enjoyed by Mrs. Grant Killian, Mrs. Clair Larsen, Mrs. Edgar Labrum, Mrs. Tom White, Mrs. Farrell Wilkins, Mrs. Richard Adams. Mrs. Reva Owen and Mrs. Ted Jensen. Prizes were won' by Mrs. Killian, Mrs. White, Mrs. Wilkins, Wil-kins, and Mrs. Larson. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED MT. EMMONS Mrs. Myrtle Myr-tle Flint, of Syracuse, announces the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter. Donna, Don-na, to Nile Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Smith, of Mt. Emmons. Rites will be performed perform-ed June 15 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. DAUGHTERS OV PIONEERS Highlighting February's social activities for members of the local camp. Daughters of Utah Pioneers, was the meeting held Friday, February 24, at the home of Mrs. Martha Shanks, at which special tribute was paid to Mrs. Eliza Gilbert, who will celebrate her 75th birthday anniversary. an-niversary. Mar. 2. Mrs. Gilbert, the second oldest member of the Roosevelt camp, was presented pre-sented with a lovely book by her fellow members. Two new members were voted vot-ed into the club during the afternoon: af-ternoon: Mrs. Erma Anderton and Mrs. Olin Timothy. The program featured a talk on the United States Constitution Constitu-tion by Ralph Shields, guest speaker, and a song by Mrs. Erma Er-ma Anderton. Luncheon was served to 35 members. Mrs. Martha Shanks, Mrs. Eliza Gilbert, Mrs. Rose Gilbert and Mrs. Ora Holgate were the hostesses. NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Mrs. Merlin Killpack was hostess hos-tess to members of Neighborhood Neighbor-hood Sewing club at her home Wednesday evening, Feb. 22. Her guest list included Mrs. Louie Laris, Mrs. LaRue Laris, Mrs. George Hacking, Mrs. Parley Par-ley Rawlings, Mrs. Robert Hall, Mrs. Don Crittenden, Mrs. Llewelyn Llew-elyn Jenkins, Mrs. Floyd Labrum, La-brum, and Mrs. Guy Burton. BIRTHDAY PARTY A birthday party was a fun affair Monday afternoon at the Robert Sather residence when young Bobby Lee celebrated his 6th anniversary. The gay doings were highlighted high-lighted with games and refreshments refresh-ments enjoyed by Nancy and Bob Harrison, Pam and Gordon Harmston, Howard Harmston. Dickie Harmston, Karen and Nickie Stone, Michelle Lyman, Mike Ruppel, Larry Swain, Du-ane Du-ane Allen and Carol Ann Bur- dick- WAFFLE SUPPER Lending a note of charm by way of evening entertainment were Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Orser, who were hosts at a waffle supper Saturday evening at their home in compliment to Mrs. Myra Phillips, of New York City, who is visiting relatives rel-atives and friends in the Basin. A beautiful cyclamen centered cen-tered the table, flanked by green tapers in crystal holders. Places were marked for Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marimon, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chamberlin, Mrs. Mary Orser, the guest of honor, and her sister, Miss Alice Todd, of Myton. TUESDAY BRIDGE Mrs. Wayne Malin was hostess host-ess to members of her bridge club at Frontier Grill, Tuesday evening. A prettily appointed salad course luncheon was served at small tables, arranged with covers cov-ers for Mrs. Lester Mullins. Mrs. Howard Harrison, Mrs. Ray Jordan. Jor-dan. Mrs. Paul Wilkins, Mrs. Robert Huish, Mrs. Sam Weiss, Mrs. Jack McLea, Mrs, Bennie Schmiett, Mrs. Gordon Harn ston, Mrs. Lynn Orser, Mrs. Axel Ax-el Birch, Mrs. Vean Bair, Mrs. Glenn Wyler. Mrs. Morris Lewis, Lew-is, and Mrs. Myrtle Lambert, Four tables of bridge were at play, following luncheon. Prizes were won by Mrs. Lambert, Lam-bert, Mrs. Wilkins, and Mrs. Huish. Hu-ish. THOUGHT AND THIMBLE A delectable 'salad luncheon and an evening of sewing provided pro-vided a pleasant social -evening when members of Thought and Thimble- club gathered Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Harold Dillman. BRIDGETTE Gaily decorated tables greeted greet-ed guests when they arrived at the home of Mrs. Marvell Neil-son Neil-son Thursday evening, Feb. 23, to enjoy a delicious luncheon. Commemorating Washington's birthday, miniature hatchets and bright cherries marked places for Mrs. Ned Bellon, Mrs. Johnnie John-nie Cook, Mrs. Verland Nelson, Mrs. Mont Killian, Mrs. Orson Stevens, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Pearl Moysh and Mrs. Elmer El-mer Eldredg'e, Bridge took the spotlight, following fol-lowing luncheon. Prizes went to Mrs. Killian, Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Rawlings and Mrs. Stevens. ENTERTAINS FRIENDS It was loads of fun for all concerned when' Maurine Ivory daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard How-ard Ivory, entertained a group of friends Saturday evening at the family residence. Participating in the evening's gay round of games and other entertainment were Diane Nelson, Nel-son, Patsy Gines, Nancy Rock-wood, Rock-wood, Beoma Young, Karolyn Smith, Dick Wardell, Maria Pu-los, Pu-los, Ray Labrum, Dorthy Dill-man, Dill-man, Mark Nelson and Dick Weiss. A delicious two-course supper sup-per was served. B P W One of the loveliest of the week's social functions was the dinner enjoyed by members of the Roosevelt Business and Pro-fesional Pro-fesional Women's club. Wednesday Wednes-day evening, March 1, at the Frontier Grill. Following a St. Patricks Day theme, decorations featured arrangements ar-rangements of green and yellow carnations. Mrs. Adalyne Logan, acting as mistress of ceremonies, introduced intro-duced Hugh Colton, of Vernal, guest speaker for the evening. Musical selections were provided by Miss Esther Wogec, vocalist, and a piano solo by Mrs. Clair Labrum. In charge o f arrangements were Mrs. Betty Wilcken, Miss Esther Wogec, Mrs. Faun Leav-itt, Leav-itt, Mrs. Viola Harmston, Miss Eva M. Haas, and Mrs. Adalyne Logan. CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY Young Douglas Craig Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. An-thon An-thon B. Christensen was host Saturday to fourteen children at a party comemmorating his third birthday anniversary. Multi-colored paper hats, fancy fan-cy candy baskets, and the traditional tra-ditional birthday cake and icecream ice-cream made it a very gala affair af-fair for Margaret Jensen, Karen Collet Nixon, Shelia Laris, Eugene Eu-gene Zirker, Parry Johnson, Lynn and Robert Nelsen, Michael Mich-ael and Susan Hatch, Eva Jean and Lee Ann Lewis, Rosemary i and Colleen Shields, S t a c e y ' Pond and the host.
