R-E-S-N Mrs. Gardner's First Grade Susan Harmston brought a huge pumpkin to our room. We cut two eyes, a nose and a mouth and named it Peter Pumpkin. Ladd and Carl also brought a jack-o'lantern. We are getting ready for our Hallowen party. R-E-S-N Mrs. Harrison's First Grade Mary Francis Wogec brought a goldfish to school. It will be our school pet. We will not feed it too much or it will die. We will watch it and try to keep it healthy. She calls it "Petsy." Mary Catherin Coltharp was 6 today. She waited so long for this birthday! We " are glad for her. She brought candy to school. It was very good. We made her a birthday book. We are learning a funny poem about "Travelers." An ant rides on a motor scooter. We have a picture to show what he is doing. R-E-S-N Mrs. Mitchell's Second Grade Because, it rained we all wanted find out about rain. We did an experiment to prove that water goes into the air. We put water in a pan. In the morning we found that the water had evaporated. This is our story: RAIN Rain is water. Water goes into the air. When water goes into the. air, we say it evaporates. Rain clouds are dark. Today an electrician came to put in the lights for our room. Plaster fell from the ceiling. He put in two wires. He pulled them through a pipe called a conduit. It was interesting to watch him. The lights are pretty. He said that sometimes they can train a little animal called a ferret to pull a wire through the wall when there is no conduit to guide the wire. We enjoyed hearing about the ferret, because we read a story about a pet white mouse that pulled . a wire through a wall. It was called "The Mouse That Went To Work." By Shauna Murdock |
