Show Sophomores Lead 24-Llember Union Honor Roll Fourteen sophomores made the "select circle" to help their class lead the field in Union's first honor hon-or roll for the 1956-67 year. The roll listed 24 students, including in-cluding four seniors, three juniors, two ninth graders and one post graduate. William S. Mahanna, math, teacher, is chairman of the scholarship committee. Principal L. F. Hutchings said the number of students; on the honor hon-or rolL is especially noteworthy in view of the rigid scholarship requirements. Three girls all sophomores topped the list. They ' are Connie Fenn 2.89, Irene Taylor 2.85 and Judy ' Bastian ' 2.84. Next' came three cougar footballers, senior Callis Morrill 2.84, sophmore Glen-don Glen-don Malnar 2.81 and senior Robert Labrum 2.80. Three sophomores followed Elaine Bingham 2.76 and Kay Bastian 2.74. and Mary Blaine, Senior LaRee Bywater, Junior Sonja Neilson and freshman Lorna Oberhansly all tied at 2.70; Senior Floyd Bartlett and Sophomores Sopho-mores Jeraldine Denver and Terry Mitchell tied at 2.67, Junior Robert Oberhansly, sophomore Angeline Savage and post-graduate Kenneth Squire tied at 2:63; Sophomore Celia Mae Jenkins 2.62, Jr. Homer Cook 2.60. Freshman Max Hartle 2.59, Sophomore Patsy Killian 2.56 and Sophomore Deanna Bowman 2.52. |
