Show 13 UNLUCKY SEWERS ALTONAH The Thirteen Unlucky Un-lucky Sewers of Altonah held their meeting at the home of Nada Murray on May 12. This was the third meeting this year. The meeting meet-ing was called to order by Onie Dunsmore. We were led in "America" "Amer-ica" by Ann Monson. The pledges were given by Marilyn Young. We had two demonstrations, one by Gwen Allred on gathers, and Mary Ann Riley on how to make a stay stitch. We had two health lessons, cn- by Glenna Iirg on how to keep your hair, and Mary Ann Reay on good grooming. Safety Safe-ty rules were given by Gwen All-red. All-red. The following attended the meeting: meet-ing: Mary Ann Reay, Mary Ann Riley, Gwen Allred, Glenna Iorg, Ann Monson, Delores Clark, Peggy Peg-gy Ralphs, Norita Bowden, Onie Dunsmore and Marilyn Young. Peggy Ralphs Reporter h-h-h-h HAPPY SHAMROCKS ROOSEVELT The meeting of the Happy Shamrocks was held at the home of Gayle Ottosen Thurs-day, Thurs-day, May 17. The meeting was called td order by Vice-President Sherry Fieldsted. We discussed old and new business and how to darn stockings. Refreshments were served ser-ved and meeting was adjourned by Sherry Fieldsted at 6:00 p.m. Janice Marchant, Reporter h-h-h-h NIMBLE FINGERS The Nimble Fingers 4-H Cooking Cook-ing Club met Thursday, May 17, with their leader, Mrs. Earl Dill-man. Dill-man. Opening prayer was by Pamela Birchell. Songs were sung and games played. Refreshments were served by Marie Peterson and Lois Fenn. Rosemary Shields said the closing prayer. Reporter, Lois Fenn h-h-h-h "M. 'N E." CLUB The two members of the advanced ad-vanced sewing club of Arcadia met Friday, May 18, 1956, at the home of their leader, Barbara Gilbert. Gil-bert. They selected their name The "M. n E." Sewing Club. Their officers are as follows: president; Eleanor Capson; secretary, Marsha Lusty; song leader, Eleanor Cap-son; Cap-son; and reporter, Marsha Lusty. The second meeting of the M. 'n E Sewing Club was held Friday, Fri-day, May 25, with President Eleanor Elea-nor Capson conducting. They had a lesson on sweaters. The health lesson was given by the leader, Barbara Gilbert. The meeting meet-ing was called to order by Joyce Reay. The pledge was read by Glena Iorg and Marilyn Young. We were led in "The Battle Hyrfi of the Republic" by Mary Ann Riley. We had two demonstrations one by Glena Iorg on a hem and the other by Delores Clark on how to thread a needle. We had a health lesson by Peggy Ralphs on watching your figure. We served on our projects. The following attended the meetings: Mary Ann Riley, Mary Ann Reay, Jane Jacobson, Onie Dunsmore, Gwen Allred, Delores Clark, Norita Bowden, Ann Mon-sen, Mon-sen, Glena Iorg, Marilyn Young, Pat Shiner, Joyce Reay, Peggy Ralphs and the teachers, Nada and Jean. Light refreshments were served by Mary Ann Riley, Norita Bowden Bow-den and Onie Dunsmore. Closing prayer was by Marilyn Young. Peggy Ralphs, Reporter h-h-h-h SUCCESS CLIMBERS May 23 The Success Climb-4-H Club met at the home of Mary Ann Collotzi Wednesday. The meeting was called to order by our leader, Paula Bell. The officers are Phyllis Timothy, president; presi-dent; Jane Liddell, vice-president; Barbara White, secretary; Karen Jensen, reporter; Mary Ann Collotzi Col-lotzi and Maria Whitehead, song leaders; Arlene Rockwood, recre ation leader;, and Janine Birtcher, hostess. Mary Ann Collotzi led us in a song. Karen Jensen led the 4-H Pledge and Janet Liddell led the Pledge to the U, S. Flag. Mary Lois Reichert, home demonstration dem-onstration agent, gave us the dates of Club Camp, Fairs, and answered an-swered some of our questions. Mrs. Bell helped us try on our patterns and alter them. We had 100 attendance at our meeting. Present were Mary Ann Collotzi, Arlene Rockwood, Janine Birtcher, Janet Liddell, Phyllis Timothy, Barbara White, Maria Whitehead and Karen Jensen. Light refreshments were served and the meeting adjourned at 7:40. The meeting was called to order by last year's president, Freda Dye. We decided on a name for our club. "The Happy Homemakers " We worked on our record books. We had demonstrations demonstra-tions by our leader on how to make tomato soup. Refreshments were served by our hostess, Freda Dye. Meeting was adjourned at 5 o'clock. |
