Show Two New Units To Be Recognized At Uintah Camp Participation June 25 to 30 in the High Uintah Scout Camp by Myton Troop 253 and Montwel Troop 262 will see these two units honored at the giant 4-district Court of Honor June 29 with the National Camping Award, states Loren Alexander, Roosevelt District Dis-trict Camping & Activities Chairman. Chair-man. In order to qualify for the National Na-tional Camping Award a scout troop or explorer post must: (1) Plan an outdoor program which will make it possible for the membership mem-bership of the Unit to have 50 or more of its membership spend 10 days and nights in the open or on Explorer expeditions; (2) review and do their best to follow the "Guide to Good Camping"; and (3) maintain a record of outdoor out-door activities and submit it to the Camping & Activities committee. com-mittee. By having two more nights of camping prior to the High Uintah Camp Ballard Troop 252 could qualify for the award. Roosevelt Second Troop 250, Roosevelt Troop 251, Ballard Post 2252, and Roosevelt Third Post 2750 would qualify with three nights of camping and participation participa-tion in the 1956 High Uintah Scout Camp It is hoped that all of the 14 troops will earn the National Camping Award before the close of 1956, concluded Mr. Alexander. |
