Show Ellen Bracken Phone 62062 Eighth Graders Are Graduated The following students from Ballard graduated from the 8th grade at Alterra on Monday eve- , ring, May 21: Anthony Lundberg, Nancy Johnson, Karl White, Beatrice Bea-trice Angus, Patsy Hullinger, Lyle Johnson, Paul Reyos, Fern Caudell, Lewis LaRose, Jay Winn, Melvin Asay and Larane Kettle. The following program was given: giv-en: solo, Clella McKowan, talk, Karl White; reading, Larane Kettle; Ket-tle; piano solo, Maxine Taylor. A few of the parents from Ballard were in attendance. The teacher, ' Samuel Hemingway, had it in charge. GET SEWING TIPS Mrs. David Lundberg accompanied accom-panied the county demonstration agent to Salt Lake City last Thursday Thurs-day and Friday, where they spent two days at the Singer Sewing Machine Co. getting instructions to be applied in 4-H Club work. Miss Dalton is a sister to Mrs. Neil Larsen, an Alterra teacher. The following ladies from Ballard Bal-lard attended the stake Relief So- ciety convention at Roosevelt Fri- ' day afternoon: Norma Johnson, Mary Collins, Veda Betts, Dorothy Kettle, Erna Stolla, Lila Bingham, Ellen Bracken, Ardis Kettle Marilyn Mari-lyn Killian and Minnie Angus and Barta Jenkins who are stake officers. offi-cers. A wonderful program was given and displays of beautiful quilts and handwork were shown. I JOIN IN PRORAM Mia Maids of Ballard ward participated par-ticipated in a Rose Tying ceremony cere-mony at the annual Rose evening held Tuesday evening, May 22, at the chapel. All the twelve girls were in formals and each had a part on the program which was as follows: prayer, Celia Kay Jenkins; song, Mary Hullinger, Karen Gines, Elaine Angus and Celia Kay Jenkins;; symbolism of the rose, Elenore Labrum; Colleen Squire ; gave a reading; Sharon Rasmus- sen played the accordian; Beth , Murray gave a reading;. Celia Kay I, Jenkins played a piano solo; Lon-f Lon-f nie Kay Winn gave a reading; Ekine Bingham, saxophone solo;, ( story of the rose, Mrs. Beatrice Lundberg; closing song, "O Rose," followed by the rose tying cere-k cere-k mony by the class leaders, Telin-tha Telin-tha Rasmussen and Beatrice Lund-1 Lund-1 berg. Each girl received a beautiful beau-tiful rose. Each Monday in the chapel there 1 ' is a diet class held. Dr. Paul Stringham will be there on Monday, Mon-day, May 28th. Mr and Mrs. Frank Bingham of Salt Lake City were weekend visitors vis-itors at the Charles Bingham home. Junior Betts took his wife and family to Salt Lake City last week to spend a week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Dewey McConkie. 4-H WORK STARTS Sewing 4-H Club was organized and started for nine girls at the home of Verda Rasmussen one day last week. Ice cream and cake were served. The first meeting was held at Mrs. Beatrice Lund berg's Monday, May 21, with Mrs Inez Squire assisting as club leaders. lead-ers.
