Show FINAL RITES HELD FOR WALTER DANIELS ON SATURDAY, SEPT. 8 Funeral services were held Saturday, Sat-urday, Sept. 8, at the Roosevelt LDS stake house for Walter Wallace Wal-lace Daniels, 68, who died in a Denver hospital Sept. 5. Conducting Conduct-ing the services was W. Ralph Shields, bishop of the Roosevelt Second ward. Mr. Daniels, who with his wife, operated the Indian Curio Shop in Roosevelt, had gone to Denver for medical observation. His death was sudden. Speakers at the services were the Rev. Richard E. Lundberg, pastor of the Episcopal Church at Vernal, James E. Bacon, former LDS Indian Mission president, Rev. Allen Episcopal minister at Whiterocks, and Bishop Shields. Miss Janice Nielsen sang a vocal solo, "Suddenly There Is A Valley;," Val-ley;," and Mrs. Sheldon Fitzgerald and Bennie Schmiett sang a duet, "Beyond The Sunset." The grave was dedicated by Rev. Lundberg. Mr. Daniels was born July 18, 1888, in Vernal, a son of Aaron and Rose Daniels. A lifetime resident resi-dent of the Uintah Basin, he served for 15 years as a forest ranger. He maried Amelia Crumbo in Oklahoma City, Dec. 29, 1909. Surviving besides his widow are four daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Ober-hansly, Ober-hansly, Neola; Mrs. Phyllis Ober-hansley, Ober-hansley, Whiterocks; Mrs. Lola Bailey, Ft. Duchesne;Mrs. Geneva Larsen, Denver; 10 grandchildren, a brother, Albert Daniels, Ft. Duchesne; Du-chesne; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ethel Cobb, Ouray; Mrs. Mentore Crumbo, Ft. Duchesne. 'Burial was in the Roosevelt cemetary under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary of Roosevelt. |
