Show LeetonBeimett Fern Houston HOME FROM CRUISE Bill Haslem returned from the') cruise with the US Navy Monday evening. He enjoyed the trip very much but was glad to be home j for a few days before returning j to the University of Utah to re- j resume his studies at school. PIONEER DIES John J. Horrocks, one of the early homesteaders and residents of this area, passed away in Vernal, Vern-al, and was laid to rest Saturday at Woodland in the family plot beside his wife, Delia, who pre-: ceded him by several years. Funeral services were at Neola. His brothers, Rodger of Salt Lake City, Frank of Bonanza, Joseph of Lapoint, Dave of Heber, and' Brig of Blackfoot, Idaho, a granddaughter grand-daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood Butterfield, of Riverton, were present at the funeral. Wayne and Myron Haslem help-! ed to fight the forest fire at Rock I Creek last week. j RUNS OUT OF WATER The Lake Storage water which we have been receving has run out as of Saturday, and Dry Gulch will be without water until it storms, unless the Indian Irrigation Irri-gation duty, which changes Oct. 1, gives them a little water. There are 50 odd second feet this area gets from the Yellowstone River, which will last until the first of the month. Russell Phillips is working at the Fish Hatchery helping to install in-stall three new hatching ponds and help make some general repairs re-pairs and enlarging the hatchery. Mir. and Mrs. Clair Haslem, Winfred Long and Larain Bob and Beverly attended the wedding reception re-ception and dance at the Ballard Ward chaepl for Mr. and Mrs. Perry Bingham Friday night. Norma and Sandra Bowen spent last weekend visiting in Salt Lake City and in Riverton with Mrs. Sherwood Butterfield. Wayne and Bill Haslem each took a load of lambs to Salt Lake City Saturday evening for the Uinta Sales Barn. Mrs. Winfred Long and daughters, daugh-ters, Laraine and Beverly, and son, Bob, attended the wedding dance at Lapoint honoring Mr. and Mis. Larry Bigelow Wednesday evening. Mrs. Fern Houston spent Thurs-I Thurs-I day and Friday in Provo visiting her sister, Mrs. Floyd Harmston, and her children, John, Norma, Lindley and George. Miss Alice Warner of Tooele spent the night with Mary Ham-aker Ham-aker Friday. They have been working work-ing together for the past 6 weeks at Dugway. Lee WhitLock is in the vicinity buying cattle for shipment to Cali-forna. |
