Show Magpie Bounty Program For Uintah County Again this year, the Uintah County Commissioners and Fish and Game Department are cooperating coop-erating in the Magpie Bounty program, says Russell Keetch, county agent. The Magpie is a real pest to the farmer because it destroys small chicks, eggs and consumes feed put out for livestock. They are also one of the chief predi-tors predi-tors on pheasants. Magpies and stray cats really take a large toll of our pheasant crop each year. Boys and girls desirous of picking up a little "pin" money can do so by gathering Magpie eggs and heads and taking them into the County Agent's office, where Miss Dween Tanner will pay them a bounty of 2 cents per Magpie egg and 5 cents per Mag- pie head. Bounty will be paid only on Saturday morning, of each week, from 9 a. m. to 12 noon, so don't bring in eggs or heads any other time. There is $116.00 to spend and it will go to those who get their I Magpie eggs and heads here first. |
