Show Veteran's Corner Tn response to numerous requests re-quests regarding eligibility for : educational benefits under the G.I. Bill, Mr. Otis L. Burton, I contact representative in charge 'of the Veterans Administration office in Roosevelt, today called attention to the fact that veterans veter-ans who have been trained in a profession or trade are not eligible el-igible for on-the-job training in their chosen fields. For instance, a veteran who .has been admitted to the bar and is legally qualified to assume the practice of law, is not eligible for on-the-job training with the objective of lawyer. The law clearly states that "no course of training will be considered bona fide if given to a veteran who is already qualified by training and experience for the job . objective." objec-tive." The lawyer-veteran may pursue pur-sue advanced professional education educa-tion is a law school, or take refresher re-fresher training in legal education educa-tion through bar review schools, or in special classes conducted by local or state bar associations associa-tions in connection with the law schools or practicing law insti- tutes, if the Institution giving l training has been approved i the state. . f.i |
