Show BASIN BRIEFS George Bacon, his son, Jimmy, and grandson, Dick Bess, left Roosevelt Friday for the elk hunt in the Nebo-Mona district. Jimmy bagged his elk Sunday morning at 9 a. m. at the head of Willow Creek canyon. The hunters returned home Sunday evening with the elk . which weighed 750 pounds and measured 11 feet. As a reward for having won the editorial contest, sponsored by the Brlgham Young University, Univer-sity, Ona Bartlett, Alterra High senior, has received a $25 scholarship schol-arship to the BYU. She plans to ' enter the Provo school next fall. Marilyn Lambert, a student at the B Y U, spent the Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing holidays with her parents, . Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Lambert. Mr. and Mrs. Homer P. Edwards Ed-wards spent the holidays visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Nelson in Bingham Canyon.
