Billy Hall, Kelly Timothy. The afternoon was spent in game. which included a peanut hun1 with little surprises for all the children. Daughters of Ulah Pioneers Captain Lila Nickell presidec' at the Daughters of Utah Pio neers meeting held Friday, April 26, at the John Gilbert residence. The program presented was a follows: opening song "The Old Rustic Bridge" led by Tina Wil- : kins, chorister; prayer, Mrs Evan Howe; report on annual D U P convention held in Salt Lake City April 5 and 6, Margaret Mar-garet Wiscombe; outlined lesson "The Mormans in California" . Mildred Smith; vocal quartet 'There Are Friends That We Never Forget", Tina Wilkins, Mildred Smith, Margaret Wiscombe Wis-combe and Myrtle Labrum; "A History of My Grandfather" read by Louisa Buchanan; closing prayer, Sarah Johnston. Luncheon was served by the hostesses Sarah Johnston, Louisa Buchanan and Geneva Gilbert. Bridgelle Mrs. Orson Stevens entertained entertain-ed her bridge club at a prettily appointed luncheon at her home last Thursday evening. Dainty bouquets of sweet peas centered each small table at which covers were laid for Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, Sch-miett, Mrs. Mont Killian, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Steve Bellon, Mrs. Ned Bellon. Mrs. Jack Mohlman, Mrs. Bill Nelson, Mrs. Clement Labrum, Mrs. Johnnie Cook, . Miss Vera Johnson, John-son, Mrs. Jack Hoover, and Mrs. Elmer Eldredge. Following luncheon three tables were arranged ar-ranged for bridge with prizes going to Mrs. Rawlings, Mrs. Bellon, Mrs. Schmiett and Mrs. Killian.- , Thought and Thimble Club Bouquets of lilacs formed the decorations when Mrs. Art Allen entertained members of Thought and Thimble at her home on Friday Fri-day evening. A tempting salad course luncheon was served with covers laid for Mrs. Ted Jensen, Mrs. Adwin Beeler, Mrs. Farrel Wilkins, Mrs. Robert Johnson, Mrs. Harold Dillman, Mrs, Merle . Benson, Mrs. Cliff Angus, Mrs. Jack Redmund, Mrs. Wilford Granger, Mrs. Bill Morrison and Mrs. Jack Gleaton, Child training train-ing was the subject for general discussion during the evening. Local Group Attends U F'W Convention Mrs. Orsen Stevent, Mrs. Stanley Stan-ley Hall, Mrs. Frank Yack, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Steve Bellon Bel-lon and Mrs. Clifton Laris, members mem-bers of the Jr. Social Culture club, returned last evening from Salt Lake City where they attended at-tended the convention of the Utah Federation of Women s Clubs held at the Hotel Utah April 28, 29, 30 and May 1. Mrs. Bill Litster, former member of ihe Jr. Social Culture Club, now residing in Salt Lake City attended at-tended the convention with the Roosevelt group. Mrs. Sterling M. Ercanbrack, president of the Utah Federation, presided at all meetings. The University of Utah was host to the convention at a tea in the Union building on Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. Mrs. Ray Ol-pin, Ol-pin, wife of the University president, pres-ident, acted as chairman. Later in the afternoon the district officers of-ficers and various members took part in the Z. C. M. I. radio program pro-gram "Shopper Guild" broadcast broad-cast over KSL. Mrs. Parley Rawlings Raw-lings was interviewed as president presi-dent of the local group, while Mrs. Clifton Laris won a prize for her participation in a dramatization, dram-atization, and Mrs. Steve Bellon received a prize for answering one of the catch questions. Friday Bridge Club Hydrangea and flowering almonds al-monds formed the attractive decorative dec-orative theme for the dessert luncheon at the home of Mrs. Bennie Schmiett on Friday evening. eve-ning. Luncheon was served at small tables with covers marked for Mrs. C. L. Ashton, Mrs. Eugene Eu-gene Harmston, Mrs. Paul Wilkins, Wil-kins, Mrs. John Bourne, Mrs. Elmer El-mer Eldredge, Mrs. Howard Harrison, Har-rison, Mrs. Lester Mullins, Mrs. Fred Ferron, Ms. Sam Weiss, Ms. Gordon Harmston, Mrs. Robert Rob-ert Huish and Mrs. Louis Cor-bridge. Cor-bridge. Bridge formed the diversion diver-sion following the -luncheon. Neighborhood Sewing Club Mrs. Neldon Nyberg entertained entertain-ed members of her sewing club at a salad luncheon at her home on Wednesday evening, April 24. Those present included Mrs. Frank Yack, Mrs. Art Allen, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Stanley Stan-ley Hall, Mrs. Howard Andrews, Mrs. Clifton Laris, Mrs. J. S. Rawlings, Mrs. Louis Laris and Mrs. Floyd Labrum.
