Society Reporter NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Adding a note of charm by way of evening entertainment was the dessert luncheon at which Mrs. Clifton Laris entertained enter-tained members of her club at her residence on September 8. Her guest list included Mrs. George Hacking, Mrs. Louis Laris, Lar-is, Mrs. Stanley Hall, Mrs. Donald Don-ald Laris, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Joseph Rawlings, Mrs. Floyd Labrum, Mrs. Guy Burton, Mrs. Neldon Nyberg, Mrs. Wood-row Wood-row Nelson and Mrs, Howard Andrews. HONORED AT DINNER Mr. and Mx-s. Parley Rawlings were hosts at a delightful dinner at their residence last Saturday evening honoring Mrs. Paul Murphy who has just completed six years of service as Stake YWMIA president. A charming decorative scheme was followed throughout the house featuring arrangements of petunias and asters. The motif was further developed in the dining room where the table was beautifully arranged with an exquisite ex-quisite lace cloth centered with a low bowl of fall flowers. Enjoying the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. John R. Bourne, Mr. and Mrs. George Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ivory, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Murphy. The evening terminated with the presentation of a beautiful china cup and saucer to Mrs. Murphy as a token of appreciation apprecia-tion from her co-workers. PACE-CROW NUPTIALS MONTWELL (Special) Of interest to- their many friends is the announcement of the marriage mar-riage of Miss Clea Pace, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Pace. to Ray Crow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Crow. The nuptials nup-tials were solemnized at the home of Bishop Lionel Jensen, in Neola, in the presence of members mem-bers of the immediate families, with Bishop Jensen officiating. For the occasion Miss Pace chose an afternoon dress in sheer white, accented by a corsage of pink rose buds. Mr. and Mrs. Crow will make their home in Montwel where Mr. Crow is engaged in farming. HONORED AT SHOWER Mrs. Olen Perryman was the honored guest Friday evening at a stork shower at the home of Mrs. Harold Dillman. Favors, decorations and entertainment enter-tainment were, in harmony with the occasion. Cookies and ice cream topped with strawberries were served to the following guests: Ora Coston, Paula Winn, Ann Norman, Wanda Trujillo, Jessie Dean, Reva Roberts, Minnie Min-nie Workman, Dorothy McCul-lough, McCul-lough, Mattie Penfield, Cora Johnson, Pearl Redmond, Erma Jensen, Nelda Wilkins, Tina Wilkins, Wil-kins, Vernie Snyder, Helen Gurr, and the honoree, Frances Perry-man. Perry-man. BIGELOW-LONG RITES BENNETT (Special) Adding interest to nuptial news this week is the announcement of the marriage of Miss Joyce. Bigc-low, Bigc-low, of Lapoint, to Norman Long, of Bennett. The ceremony was performed September 9 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Johnson and Mr. Long's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Long. Miss Bigelow was attired in a stunning creation of white satin with seed pearl trim. The nuptial party returned to Roosevelt Thursday evening and on Friday afternoon Mrs. Long was guest of honor at a bridal shower at the . Lapoint chapel. The newlyweds greeted friends Friday evening at a wedding wed-ding dance before leaving Sunday Sun-day morning for a wedding trip to Seattle, Washington, where they will be guests of Mrs. Long's sister. FRIDAY BRIDGE Capturing the social spotlight Friday evening was the charming luncheon at the home of Mrs. Howard Hajrison for members and guests of Friday Bridge club. Delicately shaded asters added charm and beauty to the rooms where small tables were arranged ar-ranged for a dessert luncheon and an evening of bridge. Guests included Mrs. Lester Mullins, Mrs. Paul Wilkins, Mrs. Parley Lambert, Mrs. Fred Ferron, Mrs. Glenn Wyler, Mrs. Eugene Harmston, Mrs. Gordon Harms-ton, Harms-ton, Mrs. J. V. McLea, Mrs. John R. Bourne, Mrs. Lynn Orser, Mrs. Axel Birch, Mrs. Clair Ash-ton, Ash-ton, and Mrs. Jay Ginn, of Albuquerque, Albu-querque, New Mexico. Prizes during the evening were won by Mrs. Birch, Mrs. Eugene Harmston and Mrs. Ginn. BRIDGETTE One of the interesting social affairs of the past week was the delicious salad course luncheon g'iven at the home of Mrs. Mar-vell Mar-vell Neilson on September 9. Dainty nosegays of asters graced the rooms and added beauty to the tables where covers cov-ers were laid for Mrs. Bill Nelson, Nel-son, Mrs. Clem Labrum, Mrs. Johnnie Cook, Mrs. Victor Gould, Mrs. Douglas McKinlay, Mrs. Ned Bellon, Mrs. Orson Stevens, Mrs: Parley Rawlings, Miss Karma Dee Harmston, Mrs. Elmer Eldredge and Mrs. Mont Killian. Following luncheon, tables were arranged for bridge with prizes going to Mrs.' Bellon, Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Killian and Mrs. McKinlay. SHOWER HONORS BRIDE An informal shower at the home of Mrs. Leo Hanson last Fridal evening honored Mrs. Floyd Wilkerson, the former Miss Helen Harris, who was married August 31 in Salt Lake City. Music during the evening was furnished by Miss Esther Wogec and Mrs. Dean Frandson. Dainty-refreshments Dainty-refreshments were served to sixty guests. Miss Bonnie Hanson, Mrs. M. Harris and Mrs. Dahl Gardner were in charge of arrangements. MISCELLANEOUS SHOWER A miscellaneous shower honored honor-ed Mrs. Dahl Gardner, the former form-er Miss Elva Harris, Monday afternoon af-ternoon at the home of Mrs. Lee Allred. The delicate hues of fall flowers flow-ers enhanced the beauty of the rooms where a prettily appointed luncheon was served to fifty guests. Mrs. William Sutteer and Mrs. Norman Holmes, sisters of the bride, and Mrs. Rex Curry, all of Ft. Duchesne, were assistant hostesses. PARTIES HONOR BRIDE ELECT MYTON (Special) With her wedding day set for Thursday, September 16, Miss LaRue Linck has found herself in a flurry of pre-nuptial entertainment during dur-ing the past week. Miss Linck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Linck, will become the bride of Rex Lamb, son of NMr. and Mrs. Floyd Lamb. Mrs. S. F. Mo.rtensen, aunt of the bride-to-be, was hostess at a miscellaneous shower Thursday Thurs-day afternoon at her lovely farm home, complimentary to Miss Linck. Approximately thirty guests were present. Saturday afternoon Miss Margaret Mar-garet Harris entertained at a shower at the home of her parents, par-ents, with the younger set gathered ga-thered to extend lovely gifts to the bride-elect. A trousseau tea climaxed the week's entertainment when Mrs. Linck and her daughter greeted guests at the Linck home on Sunday Sun-day from 5 till 7 o'clock in the evening. ENTERTAINS AT DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nelson entertained en-tertained at a delightful card party at their home on September Septem-ber 4, complimentary to Mr. and Mrs. Guy Timothy of Salt Lake.
