Show Fishing Rights Still Undecided FISHING The status on the Strawberry Reservoir contract between the Utah Fish and Game Commis-mission Commis-mission and the Strawberry Water Wa-ter Users Association is about the same as it was two weeks ago, according to Director R. L. Turpin. "The water users have invited the game commission to meet at Payson to discuss the matter. It is not likely that the commission will hold a special meeting at Payson," Turpin said, "but the water users have been invited to meet with the commission at its regular session September 18 in the Atlas Building. The water users have submitted submit-ted a contract for the fishing rights on the Strawberry Reservoir Reser-voir which" would call for payment pay-ment of $7,500 a year for ten years, plus other expenditures amounting upward to $50,000 in road repairs, etc. Copies of the contract have been sent to the commissioners and to the State Attorney General for study. Turpin pointed out that the state paid $1,000 for fishing privileges pri-vileges this year, the last year on a ton-year contract which the slate set up in 1938. |
